Sienna Miller Wear Square Scarves Style

Life has brought me together with the lovely Sienna Miller on a number of occasions. During one of these we were discussing the art of dressing, something she does rather well.

"It should be as easy as teaming a jacket with a great scarf," she beamed. At the time, this didn't strike me as particular genius, but as ever she was ahead of the curve. For being in possession of a great scarf - or several - has become one of fashion's imperatives.

Where once scarves were deemed a tad old ladyish - a Hilda Ogden-esque device for curler concealing - now they are a global fashion fetish, not least for the young. Gallic hipsters are never seen sans scarf, Kate Moss rarely leaves home without one and the cast of Gossip Girl live for their neckwear.

Scarves make an otherwise uninspiring outfit unique. They can introduce a shot of colour and flatter your face when your hair is having an off day.

Moreover, they are a very January-ish strategy for making one's wardrobe stretch further. A contemporary of Audrey Hepburn recalls that, as an impoverished chorus girl, Audrey had "one skirt, one blouse, one pair of shoes, and a beret, but she had 14 scarves. What she did with them week by week you wouldn't believe."

With the exception of a handful of hotly adored Chanel jackets - and, yes, I realise what an exceptional exception this is - I am a high-street gal. However, I harbour one other lurking designer penchant: my infatuation with Hermès silks - which cost about £260.

My first was presented to me by the most broodingly dashing Frenchman, as well it should be. Later, I had a scarf wrapped around my neck by a handsome young buck. Since then I have been feeding my own addiction.

Each year, the house unleashes a new theme, inspiring two collections: "India" was a pink and orange wonder, "Dance" an all-singing, all-dancing delight. Each boutique selects its own designs so you must pounce for fear of never stumbling across it again. (Or that's my excuse; in fact, Hermès will conduct a global hunt on one's behalf.)

My first silken coup de foudre care of Hermès occurred changing planes in Dubai: the dove grey and sable "Les Plaisirs du Froid", 19th-century sledges bordered with tight-buttocked male skaters.

Another during 48 hours in Rome, when I purchased three: dewy, emerald green roses; a brilliant graphic blue number; and the resplendent green, purple and yellow "Brazil" (pictured).

This splurge came at the onset of the recession. Now whenever the economy is referred to, my guilt response is "scarves", prompting friends to come up with the mantra: "Back Betts away from the Hermès."

I am unrepentant. My squares are the most beautiful items I can afford to own: heirlooms that I can pass on to my niece and, indeed, nephews (a knotted neckerchief lending a touch of dandyism). Iconic is an overused epithet, but Hermès silks truly are, a classic since 1937. I find myself almost hoping to break an arm so that I can adapt one as a sling à la Grace Kelly.

The company has made a great game of playing with its 90cm by 90cm classic. On purchasing a scarf, one is presented with a pack of "knotting cards", also available as the download "Playtime with your Hermès scarf" (it's all there on www.hermes.com ). In each, one is instructed how to create 101 styles of head and neck scarf, tie, belt, hairband, evening bag, even bustier.

For still more inspiration seek out the brand's J'aime Mon Carré project, which documents how the young style tribes in Paris, London, New York and Tokyo carry off their silk squares ( www.jaimemoncarre.com ).

Still, the real pleasure is going off-piste and creating one's own knotting legends. In my camper moods, I favour the "Betts dog bow", a parodically sprightly side bow affair, while this winter I toyed with the "snowbound urban cowgirl", a neck-warming variation on the classic front facing triangle.

The answer to the vexed issue of what to do with one's carré should it be too hot to wear it indoors is to emulate socialite Babe Paley and tie it jauntily about one's bag.

Hermès's recent collaborator, the equally scarf-obsessed Liberty , features a number of "How to tie your scarf" podcasts on its website, presented by its in-house looping guru.

By gazing at its advertising imagery, I also came up with the notion of joining two scarves together to create one really humdinging number. But you needn't confine yourself to expensive creations. I headed to budget friendly New Look, unearthed a pair of exquisitely soft, cornflower-blue comforters at £6.99 a pop, roped them together, and have been lapping up compliments ever since. Not that I don't have my eye on some others. For those looking winter wizened, Jaeger's scarves in ivory and rose silk will be softly illuminating to the complexion (£99).

Brora's riotous rose exquisitely anticipates spring/summer's floral mania (£65), and my next Hermès hit will be in the form of La Ronde de Jockeys (£260). The magnificent green, pink and purple version makes a cunning nod to summer's obsession with bolts of brilliant colour.

But then again, its grey and gold take is oh-so-ravishing, too. Decisions, decisions...

The Classic Alexander McQueen Skull Print Scarf: Do You Still Love it!

Even though Nicole Richie was wearing it four years ago in the the classic Alexander McQueen Skull Print square scarf, I still covet one and am happy to see that the designer continues to produce new slight variations on color and style. The 100% square silk chiffon scarf has a simple pattern of a graphic print of tiny skulls in a rectangular border and various sized skulls all over. I think this scarf is solely responsible for bringing the skull and crossbones graphic image from dark gothic style into high fashion.

Pippa Middleton Fashion Scarves

Pippa Middleton was recently seen strolling around London in a stylishly chic and simple outfit. She started off with a simple long-sleeved black dress, which she spiced up with a white and black Alice by Temperley scarf. She finished her look off with a vibrant red Prada handbag and a pair of black booties.

This look is a Hit for me! Fall is starting to bring in cold weather and although skirts and dresses are becoming a thing of the past, I still love how Pippa managed to show off some leg while still looking warm. The dress is such a nice stample and can be worn/accessorized so many different ways, and I love how she kept it fall-friendly with a scarf and a vibrant bag. The boots are also a nice fall touch; they're not too long so they still make her legs look long and lean. It also helps that her hair looks fabulous.

Lindsay Lohan and Skull Scarf Fashion

Skinny celebrities like Lindsay Lohan are finding new ways to flaunt their bones as grim reaper fashion statements breathe life into this season's hottest trends. Taking their cue from bottles of arsenic, fashion designers around the world are going gaga for Mr. Skull and Crossbones, adorning everything from jeans to jewelry with his bony image.

Lohan made a killing at a December party wearing the same Thomas Wylde "Skull Row" scarf. Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, Kate Moss, Mary-Kate Olsen, Nicky Hilton and Nicole Richie are also partial to the McQueen scarf — Lohan has hers in three colors, according to In Touch Weekly.
These girls are wearing skulls without the biker edge. The McQueen scarf is printed on really fine silk and comes in beautiful colors.

"I own a McQueen scarf. It's really pretty and feminine. It mixes elements of both hard and soft," she added.

Pippa Middleton - Beautiful Scarf and Nice Colored Coat

A few years back, I would normally go for neutral colors like blacks, browns, whites for coats and jackets but colored coats/jackets/jeans/heels/etc (blues, pinks, greens, purples and so forth) are now the "IN STYLE"!

Pippa Middleton was recently seen rocking this blue wool coat for Fall. She paired her blue wool coat with an all black outfit look (black top/black bottoms/black booties) and for her touch "statement piece" she wore the blue, gray leopard print scarf. To give the amount more of an effect and edge, she wore a croc print purse.

For this fall season, pairing colored coats with nice print scarves as a fashion statement is in right now! Accessorizing your outfits with just a scarf makes your entire outfit look even better.

What do you think of Pippa's fashion style for Fall? Do you like to accessorize your outfits with scarves? I like the transition from summer to fall with the blue color that Pippa is wearing! And, I believe the scarf does make a huge pop to the outfit and makes the outfit look even nicer.

The McQueen Skull Print Scarf Was Replicated?

Alexander McQueen’s skull print scarf may have scored him a serious fashion hit, but it’s gotten the label into some hot water. First made famous by celebrity style icons like Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian and and by other Hollywood celebrities. The scarf was quickly replicated by lower end brands and became a status symbol accessory. Now, the Hells Angels are suing McQueen for use of their logo without permission. Retailers Saks and Zappos are also being sued for including Hells Angels in the item names.

Beyonce Pregnant : Cute in Alexander McQueen Scarf

By now we all know that Beyonce is having a baby. And pregnancy is working for her. Doesn't she look cute as a button in this outfit. Personally, I think it's more about this short, yet chic red pea coat, than this Alexander McQueen leopard scarf.
On her fee are Alain Quilici's Payson Skate Lace-up Booties. Those jokers cost $1,180! The shoe has a 5-inch heel.

The Alexander McQueen skull scarf is another popular item spotted all over Hollywood. Here Nicole Richie dons the look with torn jeans and spike heeled boots. As we make the transition into fall, it's time to break out those much needed accessories to add to your cozy look. Take note from Nicole Richie, who opted for an Alexander McQueen chiffon skull scarf while promoting her newest book Priceless: A Novel. Being that we haven't exactly waved goodbye to the hot summer weather, the light weight McQueen scarf was the perfect way to usher in the fall season while adding a colorful layer to her glamour look.
